Job Description Job Summary:Innovate!, Inc., in conjunction with our prime customer, is recruiting for a Senior Software Engineer to support our customer's data center and join our top-notch team. This team supports the Chesapeake Bay Program Office (CBPO), a regional partnership that leads restoration efforts in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The CBPO's data center supports and develops a variety of scientific models and monitoring applications to assist states and federal agencies in meeting the programs restoration and protection goals. This position is located In Annapolis, Maryland and serves as a contractor to the Environment Protection Agency (EPA).Responsibilities: The selected candidate must be highly qualified and experienced with web application development on the ASP.NET platform. Principal responsibilities include: . Develop code using Microsoft Visual Studio in .NET and C# environments with experience in the following: MVC, Web API, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, Ajax, and XML . Design component level solutions from systems requirements . Develop and support multi-threaded scientific applications. . Developing software solutions both from "scratch" and within existing architectures . Write and debug Transact-SQL . Perform testing on developed code (initial and regression) . Coordinate and prioritize application modifications and bug fixes . Participate and contribute to a team approach to software development and problem solving Required Skills and Competencies: . Microsoft ASP.NET, MVC, Web Forms, ASP.NET Web API, C# with a solid understanding of Object Oriented design techniques . Extensive experience with C#, ASP.NET, Linq & Entity Framework, MVC, Web API, WCF, JavaScript, HTML5, XML. Experience with distributed Cloud computing is a plus . Microsoft Visual Studio xxxx-xxxx . Microsoft SQL Server -, ability to write and debug Transact-SQL . Experience with Configuration Management methodologies and tools such as Subversion (SVN), Git or VSS . Ability to work well in a team environment . Strong knowledge of software development best practices . Strong written and verbal communication skills Education and Experience: . BA or BS degree in computer science, IT or related field and 7+ years of directly relevant software engineering experience . Experience developing n-tier applications and understanding of UML and Design Patterns . Experience with one or more development methodologies (RUP, Waterfall, Agile, etc.) preferred
