POSITION SUMMARY:
As a recognized industry:wide authority, provides both internal and external consulting services. Works independently on advanced systems/software analysis projects. Remains current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments/applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, designs, implements, and maintains Enterprise Exchange systems in integration with a large scale Enterprise environment. Develops designs, prototypes, and working code for key feature sets or applications; provides thought: and technical:leadership in one or more key areas. Identifies system requirements for operations and security, and works with other engineers and staff to develop designs and integrate components. Performs system designs, developments and product verification testing on power, control systems, software, hardware, and equipment.
Develops the operations, management, integration and security requirements. Develops and documents system architecture, including relevant user cases. Develops security procedures for design reviews, and for operational monitoring, recording, and responding to security events. Defines operations, security and integration tool requirements to allow users to evaluate and analyze their network resources for performance and scalability in test:bed and modeled environments. Provides technical direction and oversees integration and prototype development efforts.
Develops models for future architectural enhancements to system hardware. Completes testing and documents for working code. Maintains, supports, and enhancing existing solutions.
Works closely with the Delivery team and customers to assess feasibility of requested deliverables and establish product delivery schedule. Provides input into commitments and schedules.
Works closely and actively with other team members to ensure that interdependent deliverables are accomplished according to schedule. This includes, in addition to code, the creation of internal documents, documentation, testing, samples, etc. Takes ownership and ensures proactive closure for problem reports that fall within or appear to fall within area of responsibility; works closely with internal customers to quickly and successfully closeout problem reports. Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product. Develops and may conduct training programs. Recommends future direction or projects to management. Provides expertise and direction in the development or modification of complex software programs to enhance an operating system. Provides advice and guidance to less experienced staff.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent and at least 18 years of related experience.All positions require an active TS SCI with Poly. Twenty (20) years of experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required. Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
